Cloud Forest, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore
Light is an interesting subject that came up many times in my conversations today with my family, and I started to think how important it was in my life without even thinking about it. I wouldn't be a photographer without light - it's what we use to create the world we see. It also allows our minds to create the world we WANT to see as well, which is very interesting to me when taking photos. History has always taught us that photos are reality, but I tend to think they are the reality that we want to see, rather than the actuality.
For example, the photo on the left, taken in Singapore was staged by me and my camera. I saw the light beams coming out from behind the bridge, and I placed myself in the right position to get the effect I wanted with settings. So is that truly reality or is that the reality we want to see?
