Maritimes: Day 2 - PEI Wanderings

How do you describe an epic day on vacation? I could list all the cool things we saw and show you tons of photos that would make you jealous of your office-downtown surroundings. But instead, I'm going to tell you the story of a wonderful tea room owner, who traveled to PEI, from Japan, 30 years ago because she simply loved the look of the photos she had seen. Having always dreamed of one day going there, she and her husband left the land they knew and set up a beautiful house in Clinton, PEI transforming it into a charming tea-room. There, they serve the most amazing home-made foods. Every piece was so carefully and lovingly plated, even to the detail of the carrot slice made into a flower over some of the best potato salad I've ever had.  Her gardens outside the house were in full bloom, and each table bore a sample of what was outside. The whole place could have easily been too much, but the food, service and each decoration in this place was just overwhelmingly charming. It's stories, and places like this, that make vacations as wonderful as they are. Check out
