Caught these girls as a tram passed me by on a street in Kennedy Town. The girl on the right was “gossiping” about some other kid they both knew, while the girl that caught my eye was just nodding along as the friend chatted. It was a very adult moment on two very young girls that made me smile but also think about photography for a second. After all these years, I am still an observer of life. When traveling, these moments are heightened for me because I’m on the constant lookout.
Part of being able to call myself a photographer has come after years and years of training myself how to capture a photo without thinking about settings. The hunt of that photo, the thrill of capturing a moment that makes me smile after is what it’s all about for me. I’m still working on the story telling part of my captures, but at least I know I’m half-way there.
